This video is the fourth in a series of four that addresses fitness for adults. The core is an important set of muscles for everyone, but especially for those who are active in a sport or exercise program. It is the core that stabilizes and controls movement. In this session I discuss the core as it relates to various exercises, covering what the core muscles are, who should train these muscles, why theses muscles should be trained, and how you should train them.
This video is the third in a series of four that addresses fitness for adults. In this video post, I explain the exercise group associated with improving lower body strength.
This video is the second in a series of three that addresses fitness for adults. In this video post, I explain the exercise group associated with improving upper body strength.
The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) provides General Exercises Guidelines for Adults, specifically relating to Cardiorespiratory, Resistance, Flexibility, and Neuromotor exercises. In this video post, I explain each exercise group in detail.
The first session or, initial assessment, is comprised of measuring (anthropomorphic, body composition, aerobic ability, muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility and posture). For this session, I will ask that you avoid caffeine, heavy meals or exercise 2 hours prior to the appointment. Comfortable clothing for exercise is appropriate. For the body composition test I will need to have you remove shoes and socks.
For the successive sessions, I will teach, show and construct a series of exercises to help bridge the gap between your current physical status and your fitness goals that we both find realistic. We may train 1, 2 or 3 times per week depending on our availability and needs analysis for the desired training effect.
The training package prices range from 5 for S350 ($70 per), 10 for $650 ($65 per) or 20 for $1200 ($60 per). For 2 people, add half the fee of the package that you choose. I can accept check or cash. Please let me know of you have any further questions.
Looking forward to helping you get in the best shape of your life!
My “web guy” Kurt has become quite interested in improving his golf fitness, and he is looking to me and golf biomechanics to help him do that.
To start, what is biomechanics? Biomechanics is the study of how forces exerted both internally (by the muscles) and externally (by gravity) affect the skeletal system. The golf swing is an incredibly complex motion that requires almost every part of the body to work together in sequence and in harmony.
In this post and video, I’m assessing Kurt’s golf fitness. Although he is physically fairly strong and reasonably fit, as you will see by viewing this video, he has several areas from a golf swing perspective that needs working on.
After this assessment, Kurt and me put together a program specifically tailored for Kurt to get him more golf fit.
